The DREAD of going back to work
I know what it's like to want to be home with your kids.
When I started my daycare, I was a first time mom to a one year old
I spent the months leading up to that time dreading having to go back to work.
In all honesty, I hated my job and all I wanted to do was stay home and take care of my baby.
I didn't want someone else feeding or caring for her.
That was my job!
But my partner was adamant that I bring in an income.
I looked into all the typical things, like
work from home jobs
network marketing
and blogging
but none of them would give me a consistent income
or allow me to spend as much time with my daughter as I wanted.
Then one day I remembered a promise I'd made to myself as a teenager.
I'd heard about home daycares back then and I told myself that
if I ever had to work after having kids, I would start a home daycare.
That was it!
I knew I could do it.
I just had to figure out how.
Unfortunately, figuring out how wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.
There are so few resources online for starting a home daycare, and there were even less back then (10 years ago)
All the info I found was either too vague or contradicted the other stuff I was learning.
It was confusing, and I didn't want to make a mistake because if I did, I could get in big trouble or even have my business shut down.
That's when I made a vow that once I figured it out, I would help other moms who were in the same position I was.
